This is one of my favorite locations to photograph at in Big Bear Lake. A spot in Moonridge (which gets the most snow). It's perfect year-round, but the snow just hits different here! I love the thick forest vibe with views of Sugarloaf mountain in the distance and sage brush throughout the forest. The tall pines and sequoia trees always make for the best backdrop! There's even some big logs at the entry that have been cut down and create a really nice frame. It's especially gorgeous when we get a partly overcast day (my fav) to mellow out the intense glare or blue hues the snow gives off when there's no clouds... like this day. The greens are so rich as well when we get a day like this one. There was even some golden light that peeked through the trees towards the end of our session! All in all, I'd say we got pretty lucky ;)
Give me all the couple maternity photoshoots in the snow!! This was the perfect setting for what Gabby and Dillon envisioned for their sweet, snowy maternity photoshoot in Big Bear. As we got to talking, I learned that they had been loving each other for about 10 years and so they were ready to welcome their first baby into the world! They both love Big Bear mountain and wanted to document their big milestone here, with their first girl Minnie, a terrier mix!
I just loved the sleek black dress and boots she wore to contrast the white snow and greenery. And Dillion looked sharp with his black V-neck long sleeve and tan pants! She happened to be wearing a tan sherpa jacket when she arrived and didn't plan on photos with it, but I was all for it! This is always a good look for the snow and maternity sessions (or any session tbh). I hope you love looking at these and get inspo. for your snowy maternity session!
Congratulations again, Gabby and Dillon!! Hope you enjoy!! <3 -G
